The 2022 Canada Games will take place in the Niagara Region from August 14-22. The summer Canada Games is the largest multi-sport event in Canada with over 5000 athletes and their coaches participating. Team Nova Scotia will sending a group of up to 61 athletes (50 able bodied, 5 wheelchair track, 2 para throws, 4 Special Olympics). Please note for 2022, the age categories have been broadened.

The age limits are as follows: Able-bodied 1998 and later, Para 1986 and later and Special Olympics 1991 or later.

2022 Canada Games Trials Exemptions Granted:

Oliver Arnfast - Decathlon - Reason:  lack of proper equipment and officials to run pole vault at Trials.  Will be attending Athletics NB Trials as replacement event.

Andrew Peverill - 1500m and 5000m - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in both events.

Gabrielle Fraser - Triple Jump - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in the event.   

Siona Chisholm - 1500m and 5000m - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in both events.

Hudson Grimshaw-Surette - 5000m - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in the event. 

Jenna Reid - Hammer and Javelin - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in the event.  

Madelyn Quinn - Javelin - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in the event.

Jennessa Wolfe - High Jump - Reason:  Has achieved A+ standard in that event.

Online education for the Niagara 2022 Canada Games is now available!

As part of our commitment to clean sport, all athletes and support personnel attending the 2022 Canada Games must complete anti-doping education provided by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES). 

Use the PDF invitation below to sign up for an account in the CCES online learning portal and complete a course in the True Sport Clean series!

  • New users 17 and older will complete True Sport Clean 2022. 
  • New users 16 and younger will complete the brand new True Sport Clean: Next Gen. 
  • Returning users who completed a course last year (2021) will complete The 2022 True Sport Clean Review. This will already be available on your Dashboard if you’re eligible. 
  • Coaches, managers, technical support & mission staff will additionally complete The Role of Athlete Support Personnel. 

When you sign up, you will first create a password and enter your date of birth. Once logged in, you will complete the Profile module before receiving your courses. This step is important to make sure you’re associated with your team. 

  • Choose your province or territory carefully. If you’re competing for Team Alberta, for example, choose Alberta. 
  • On the ‘Major Games’ screen, select Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games

If you have already completed a 2022 course, you have fulfilled your education requirement and do not need to do the course again! Simply launch the Profile to make sure that your Province/Territory and Major Games are listed correctly.

Registration is now open for Niagara 2022!!! We ask that ALL athletes, including alternates and prospective athletes who might make a team to register through the online platform by July 1. To begin this process simply click on the link below.

  • You will need a working email address
  • You will be asked to provide a host of information including, address, medical information, dietary needs etc.
  • You will need to click on the Code of Conduct link, Click the NS code, Download and sign it, please return this to your team manager or coach (this is required to attend the games)
    • A parent or guardian will need to sign this if you are a minor

Please note that changes and updates to your registration can be made after the fact. You will be asked to create a password for login purposes. Part of the registration process requires you to upload a photo into the system (this is required for your accreditation) please use the guidance below to take your picture.

  • Use plain white background
  • Try to wear a neutral shirt
  • Photo from shoulders up
  • No ball caps or hats 
  • Feel free to smile :)

We are asking all potential Athletes to register for the games by July 1st 2022. We know that some team selections are not final by this date but are again asking all potential athletes to sign up. A process of registering final rosters will occur once all final team selections are complete.
