Athletics Nova Scotia receives donation to support the Roots to Records Project.
Athletics Nova Scotia is incredibly grateful to have received a generous donation in support of our Roots to Records project through an Athletics NS Master Athlete.
This $7500 contribution is vital to our mission of significantly increasing the volume and diversity of our provincial athlete pool by lowering financial barriers to entry for U12 and U14 participants.
With these funds, we are committed to making a tangible impact on our grassroots community:
- We will provide essential "Starter Pack" equipment kits to regional clubs, removing the immediate financial burden of purchasing specialized gear for families.
- We are launching regional "Try-It" series events, offering low-cost or free developmental opportunities to underrepresented communities to ensure access isn't limited by travel or high entry fees.
- The donation supports necessary marketing and outreach, ensuring families are aware of these barrier-free entry points, as well as the administrative efforts required to coordinate these events and manage new registrations.
By strengthening our grassroots "base," we are directly impacting the long-term developmental journey of our athletes. This project ensures that Nova Scotia's representation on National Junior and Senior teams remains a true reflection of the best athletic talent in the province, rather than being limited by socio-economic status.
Thank you for investing in the future of our sport.
