We will be hiring up to 2 Program and Event Assistants.
Athletics Nova Scotia Program and Events Assistant
General Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistants’ responsibilities include assisting with the membership-building activities of the Association while supporting all outreach programs and events.
Skills and Qualifications
- Project management experience is required; Minimum of 2-3 years experience in sports or events would be an asset
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to develop multiple project plans and execute on time and on budget
- Motivated self-starter with excellent communication (written, verbal & presentation skills), time management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with volunteers and professionals
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant has the following responsibilities:
- Helps plan and deliver current activities and projects to grow the membership of Athletics NS
- Assists with the coordination of the Association's School/Recreation Sports Outreach Programs and the RJTW/Mini Legends Program
- Plans and delivers outreach workshops to various user groups
- Helps with the successful delivery of all track and field meets
- Works with the Staff Team to ensure that programs meet budgetary outlines & expectations
- Assists in the development of new programs that grow participation and awareness in our sport
- And further duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
The term will be up to 12 weeks at 35 hours per week with extensive evening and weekend work. Access to reliable transportation will be required. The position will be hybrid ( in office and remote) in Halifax, NS with travel required throughout the province. All employees will undergo a background check before assignment.
