April 26, 2018 – For Immediate Release –
Halifax, NS – With the Royal Canadian Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships fast approaching in August in Brandon, Manitoba, athletes across the province will soon be running, throwing and jumping their way to achieve team standards to be named to the team. The NS/NU Legion Command and Athletics Nova Scotia has been busy compiling the best coaching and support staff possible to help 38 athletes be the best they can be at the Championships this year.
Lauren Duke, a previous team coach, has been selected as a first time head coach for the team and is eager for the job. “I am honoured to have been selected as Head Coach for the 2018 NS/NU Legion team travelling to Manitoba this summer. This is an exciting personal and coaching development opportunity for me as it will be my first provincial team as head coach. As a past Legion athlete myself and an active club coach, coach learning facilitator and board member, I am excited to bring new ideas to the team. I look forward to working with the invaluable staff members selected to join me. I know we are all looking forward to our Legion Trials Meet and I hope to see as many athletes as possible achieving standards and personal bests so we can build the strongest team for the 42nd annual event.”
